January 31 - List of Punchlines 

Note: As I started to go through stories that made me laugh, it occurred to me that most people  would know at least a few of the punchlines, many would know five or more, some would know  all. It's ok if you don't know all of them--I am sure you have your own. It was impossible to know  her without being a part of something that would make you giggle out loud.  

As sad as this situation has been, it has also brought so much joy. Syd is only 58 but my  mother- in- law has pointed out that she has lived 10 lifetimes in under six decades. The stories  are epic. I pointed out to Spencer the blessing and curse of being married to her—we have a  plethora of adopted family that will be in our lives forever and will have our backs for life.  Simultaneously I will be a widower for ever. As I told Spencer: “Can you imagine being the 2nd  Mrs. Fleming and being told for the millionth time: ‘This one time… Syd did this; or, This other  time, Syd said this!” 

I have decided that instead of telling stories, it would be fun to list some of them by punch line  Many of you will know some. Some of you will know all. 

1) Sorority girls attempt to steal pizza by having Syd jump from a wall onto the pizza delivery  guy…. At their own sorority. 

2) “Mom, I just saw the man I am going to marry.”

4) “I bet we can do the Century Ride on piece of shit bikes... with no training.” 5) “If you can run a marathon, I can run 14.” 

6) “I think I can run around the island with my friends.” 

7) “I know I just ran a Spa at a five diamond resort and opened two new spas by working 120  hour weeks but I am thinking of changing my career to that of Federal Probation Officer.” 

8) “Would you like to go the Kayaking Nationals as a Parent or an Athlete.”

9) “Bee Fucking Awesome (I came up with that name).” 

10) “I just discovered this thing called CrossFit—We are all doing it.” 

11) “My mom is training to bike across America. We should do spin classes so we can join her.” 

12) “I know you and Spencer have been sailing your whole lives but I am going to do the  Bullship, with my friend, and win both double handed and Tail End Charlie"
